Chris & Samm
Introduction
Hi, we're Chris and Samm — and from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to get to know us. We know that the decision you are facing is one of the most profound a person can make, and we want you to know that we don't take your trust lightly. We are two people who have spent our lives showing up for others — in our families, our friendships, our communities, and each other — and we are so ready to show up for a child every single day.
Becoming parents has always been a dream we've held close to our hearts. We've talked about it from almost the very beginning of our relationship, and choosing adoption felt not just right, but meaningful — a beautiful way to build a family rooted in intention, love, and commitment.
About Us
During COVID, we met online and an unexpected dating app glitch brought us together. Samm lived in Indiana and Chris in New Jersey. The distance didn’t stop us, and we spent two years traveling back and forth to see each other before deciding to build our life together in New Jersey.
We both say we fell in love instantly, and neither of us has looked back since. We were married in September 2023 in New Hope, Pennsylvania, surrounded by 85 of our closest people, and every day since has felt like a natural extension of that day.
We consider each other best friends. We balance each other beautifully — Samm is the big-picture thinker, the cheerleader, the one who finds meaning in every moment; Chris is the analytical one, the planner, the one who brings calm and thoughtfulness to any situation. Together, we communicate openly, support each other through everything, and make each other laugh constantly.
Meet Chris
I grew up in a big, close-knit Italian family in New Jersey, surrounded by holiday traditions and a lot of love. From the time I was four years old, I've navigated life as a person who stutters — and while that shaped some hard early experiences, it also gave me something I carry with pride: deep empathy, resilience, and a commitment to authenticity.
Today, I'm the Director of Marketing at a major media company, where I lead strategy, and mentor others. I'm also actively involved with the National Stuttering Association, where I advocate for inclusive workplaces and mentor people navigating similar paths. I love singing, yoga, traveling, and spending time outdoors. As a dad, I'm excited to bring a love of tradition, a spirit of adventure, and the lesson I had to learn the hard way: that who you are is always enough.
Meet Samm
I grew up in a small town in Indiana in a warm, traditional household where family dinners were sacred and showing up for people was just what you did. After studying acting in New York City and later earning my master’s degree in communication, I built a career that took me from youth program development at a Big Ten University to directing special events at a national media organization — each chapter teaching me something new about people, connection, and purpose.
Today I work in banking and I'm also active in local politics because I genuinely believe that advocating for your community matters. I'm curious and creative – I love photography, travel, the arts, and finding the places most people walk right past. I'm everyone's cheerleader; the person who roots hardest for the underdog and finds joy in seeing others thrive. As a dad, I want our child to always know that their life is a gift, that their voice matters, and that they are unconditionally loved exactly as they are.
Our Family & Friends
A child coming into our family will never wonder if they are loved. We frequently spend time with family and friends. We have a large extended family in the area who we see regularly as well as family in the Midwest who we see a few times a year. We both always say how lucky we are to have such a close-knit relationship with both sides of the family.
We’ve built long-lasting friendships over the years, many of whom are parents with young children. We consider our friends our family and we celebrate life’s big moments together. Our neighbors have quickly become friends, including same-sex couples who have built their families through adoption. Our community is full of families who look like ours, and we couldn't feel more settled or more ready.
Our Home and Community
We live in a tight-knit coastal town on the Jersey Shore. Our house is a four-bedroom single-family home in a quiet, newly built neighborhood close to schools, parks, and everything a family could need. One bedroom is already set aside to become a nursery, and there's a large backyard ready for summers of playing outside.
Our Message to You
We recognize the depth of love and courage it takes to be where you are right now, and we want you to know that your child's story — their whole story, beginning with you — will always be honored in our home. We are committed to openness, honesty, and raising a child who knows exactly where they came from and why they are so deeply cherished.
We don't have all the answers. We know parenting will humble us, challenge us, and change us in ways we can't yet imagine. But we also know that we will show up — fully, joyfully, and together — every single day.
Thank you for considering us. Whatever you decide, we wish you peace, support, and love on this journey.
With gratitude and open hearts,
Christopher and Samuel
