Introduction

Thank you for reading this!
Hi, I’m Hilary – thank you so much for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am truly inspired by your love for your baby, your strength, and your courage as you explore what is best for you and your child. I hope that my words help you get to know me a little bit and envision the loving mom I would be to your child.

Only you will know when you find the right person to adopt your child, and I have enormous respect for how hard this decision must be. If I am the right one for you, I look forward to being on this journey together.

A little about me and my dream of becoming a mom!

I live in a wonderful New Jersey town and I’m fortunate to have tons of family and friends all around! They are an amazing support system and a constant source of joy, love, laughter, connection, and adventure.
My mom Bev and my brother Todd and his family (wife Lisa, kids Sky, Quinn, Andrew, and Kevin) all live nearby and they will play an every day part of your child’s life. I’m very close with my extended family, too, and I have cousins, aunts, and uncles up and down the East Coast. They can’t wait to welcome your child to our family!
My lifelong dream has been to become a mom and raise a family. For a number of years I was dating a man who had children from a previous marriage, and I became very close to his family. We broke up before we had children together, and I am not presently in a relationship. I’m open to finding love in the future with someone who shares my love of family and would love your child as much as I will, but I know with all my heart that now is the time for me to become a mom.
I have been trying to become a mom for some time, including a number of unsuccessful fertility treatments. I think families of all kinds are beautiful and don’t believe biological connections are what matters. I have many relatives and close friends who have created their incredible families through adoption -- love, support, and close bonds are what’s important in life, not genetics. I promise you that I would surround your child with unconditional love, doing everything I could to provide the best life possible for him or her.
I’m so grateful for my family – we genuinely love spending time together and we always support each other, no matter what. My entire family is ready and waiting to shower your child with love and welcome him or her to the family!
Family dinners, family vacations, and extended family holiday celebrations were a cherished part of my childhood and they continue to this day! I can’t wait to share these traditions with your child, and create new traditions too.

My family and friends are excited to embrace your child!

My mom, Bev, is my best friend! I’m so glad she lives nearby. We talk on the phone every day, get together all the time, and enjoy family vacations together every summer. She is an amazing woman and role model, and a wonderful “Nana” to my nieces and nephews (Andrew, Kevin, Sky, and Quinn). I know she’ll be similarly incredible with your child. She’s up for anything, fun, kind, and thoughtful – my friends adore her! My older brother, Todd, lives close too, and we all enjoy spending time with one another. I am grateful to Todd and his wife Lisa for giving me three awesome nephews and an amazing niece (they blended their family – Todd had two sons, and Lisa had a son and a daughter). I’m so proud of Andrew, Kevin, Sky, and Quinn, and I’m happy to have lived near them as they’ve grown up. My brother is an incredible dad, and he will be a wonderful role model for your child, too.
I have many friends who live in my neighborhood, and it’s great being an “honorary aunt” to their kids. One of the things I love the most about my town is its incredible diversity and inclusivity -- everyone is welcomed, accepted, respected, valued, and included.

A glimpse into my life…

My mom Bev and dad John taught me to live fully, love deeply, and dedicate myself to making this world a better place. I think it’s important to work hard, and equally important to have fun and live each day to the fullest. For me, no day is complete without friends and family in it, whether that means a phone call just to say hi, a funny “this made me think of you” text, a quick bite to eat out, or a casual get-together at a friend’s house.
Traveling is important to me – I love exploring cities and small towns, and visiting beaches, mountains, and everything in between. England, Bermuda, Colorado, and Maine are some of my favorite places to visit.
Education has always been incredibly important to me and I am deeply committed to providing children from all backgrounds with opportunities and experiences to learn, grow, and succeed. I’ve always loved working with children and started my career as a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher.
After years of hard work, today I am a College Vice President. My colleagues are some of the coolest, smartest, and kindest people I’ve ever met, and I feel so lucky to have a job that allows me to make a positive difference in the world.
My career is established so now I can reap the benefits and be a totally hands-on mom. The college community is close-knit, family-friendly, and incredibly supportive of families of all shapes and sizes—we understand and value the importance of work-life balance! Many of my coworkers have young children who love to play together, and the entire college campus community will welcome your child with open and loving arms.

My home and my pets

My home has a large, fenced-in back yard where I love to play with my dog Henry, enjoy meals on the patio, read a great book, and hang out with friends and family. The family room has sliding doors that lead right to the deck and yard, so we’re constantly enjoying fresh air and sunshine. I live within walking distance of the public library, shops and restaurants, parks and playgrounds, the local pool, and the elementary school. Many of my close friends live just minutes away, and the school system is among the best in the nation. Henry is my two-year-old rescue dog – he’s an energetic, loyal, and loving Lab mix. He loves attention and my friends and coworkers adore him. My cats Cougar and Puma are brother and sister – I rescued them from a local shelter about 7 years ago.

My promise to you and your child

I will love your child fiercely and unconditionally, doing everything I possibly can to provide him or her with a wonderful life.
I will encourage and nurture your child’s unique talents, interests, and qualities, always valuing and supporting his or her individuality.
I will ensure that your child has a childhood filled with love, wonder, adventure, learning, and joy.
I will be forever dedicated to ensuring your child’s health, happiness, and success.
Your child and I will always celebrate with love and deepest gratitude the extraordinary birth mother who made it possible for us to become a family.

A few closing thoughts…

Thank you reading about me and considering whether I would be right for you and your child, now and into the future. Hopefully this has given you a sense of who I am as a person and who I will be as a parent. I have always dreamed of being a mom, and I would be honored if you chose me to adopt your incredible child.

Love, Hilary
