Introduction:

Motherhood has always been a big part of how I pictured my life. Even though things didn’t unfold the way I once imagined, my desire to become a mother, especially through adoption, has never changed. I’m now in a place where I have the stability, support, and love to fully devote myself to a child’s wellbeing and future.

I also want to honor the incredible love and courage birth mothers show in making adoption possible. I have deep respect for any woman considering this path, and I’d be grateful for the chance to connect, hear your hopes, and work together to create the future you envision for your child. I’m completely open to whatever level of communication feels right for you, and you can stay connected in any way that feels comfortable as you continue building your life and moving toward your own goals.

About Me:

I was born in New Jersey in 1984 to an Italian mom and a Puerto Rican dad, and I’m the middle child with two brothers. Growing up, I was a quiet, shy kid at first, but once I warmed up, I loved joking around and being silly. I spent my childhood coloring, painting, playing dress‑up and Barbies, and excited for trips to Toys “R” Us. I loved school projects like arts & crafts and being in school plays, and some of my favorite memories are getting picked up after school, going home for a snack, watching my favorite shows, and hanging out with my brothers—especially my younger brother, who’s always been my little sidekick.

I did well in school (except math, which still isn’t my strong suit), and I began helping after school in the doctor’s office my mom worked in and managed. My dad worked in construction, and between both, I learned a lot about hard work and caring for people. I loved working in healthcare and eventually became a Medical Assistant, spending almost 20 years helping patients and meeting people from all walks of life. Later, my siblings and I were lucky enough to open a restaurant with the help of our grandparents, and I’ve been working for myself ever since. It’s been a great experience, and it gives me the flexibility to have plenty of time for my child.

When I’m not working, some things I enjoy are walking in my local park, shopping, going to the beach or lake, cooking, concerts and seeing a Broadway show. I’m also an avid reader; fiction and autobiographies are my favorites. And of course, I make time for family and friends, who are a huge part of my life. I love traveling, especially road trips. One of my big bucket‑list goals is to visit all 50 states. I’m at eight so far and still going. I think trips like that can be such a fun and educational experience for a child.

I grew up in a catholic home, taking part in church milestones such as baptism, communion, confirmation, and attending midnight mass on Christmas. Over time, my faith became more personal than formal. In the last few years, I’ve started going to church more often again. I’d like to share that with my child and have them attend church with me on Sundays, but as they get older, I’d be open and supportive if they chose to explore other faiths or beliefs.

Family Life

My family has always been close. My parents divorced when I was in junior high, but they’ve stayed on great terms and still talk often. My mom, my brothers, and I live near each other, so we see one another regularly, along with extended family. I see my dad often too, and even when we’re all busy, we’re always checking in by text or phone. We celebrate holidays, birthdays, and take vacations together. Being together is important to all of us.

I grew up learning to cook and bake from my grandmother, and Sunday dinners have always been our way of staying connected. I decorate my house for almost every holiday because it makes everything feel festive and fun. When my dad and his girlfriend come in from out of state, we always have breakfast at our favorite diner before they get back on the road, it’s our little ritual. We also love taking trips to Maryland, spending time at the beach and visiting friends we’ve made over the years. These traditions mean a lot to me, and I look forward to continuing them with my child.

Besides my family, I also have two dogs, Rocky and Bella, who are part of my little crew. They’re loving, patient, and used to being around children, and I can already picture them becoming loyal little buddies to my child.

I’m an early riser, so my day starts with a quick prayer, letting the dogs out, feeding them, and enjoying my morning coffee. After that, I get ready and start work. I’m fortunate that my business lets me work from home most times, which lets me balance my responsibilities while still being present and hands-on at home.

The baby’s room is already prepared with everything they’ll need in their first year. When I’m in the nursery, I can imagine our days — slow mornings, feeding and getting the baby dressed, heading downstairs with the dogs, and settling into a routine of playtime and naps. While the baby sleeps, I’d catch up on work or chores. Later, we might visit my mom, who lives just minutes away and is already so excited. Our evenings would be filled with simple routines: a little outing, some quiet time, dinner, bath time, and a bedtime story; all the everyday moments that build a steady, loving home.

I imagine those quiet mornings eventually turning into busy days filled with school drop‑offs, playdates, homework at the kitchen table, sports, afternoons at the playground, library story time, school events, birthday parties, and fun outings. I’m ready for this next chapter and excited for my life to grow and change in all the best ways as I become a mom. I know it’s a meaningful responsibility, but my upbringing in a large, close‑knit family, and all the hands‑on experience I’ve had caring for cousins and friends’ kids, has made me confident that I’m ready to devote my time and love to a child.

Just like my parents did for me, I want to be there for all the big and small moments. I want to be a hands‑on, present parent and make sure we have plenty of memories saved through photos and keepsakes.

I’m beginning this journey as a single mother, but I do hope that down the road I’ll meet someone who blends well with our family and shares the same values. My child’s wellbeing will always come first, so if I ever get serious with someone, I’ll make sure it’s a relationship that feels right and safe for them.

My Friends and Family

My mother, one of four siblings and born in NYC to parents who came from Italy, raised us as a homemaker before later working full‑time as an office administrator. She speaks Italian, Spanish, and a bit of Arabic. My father, born in Puerto Rico and one of fourteen siblings, moved to the U.S. as a teen and built a career as a carpenter and general contractor. He speaks Spanish fluently. I’m conversational in both Spanish and Italian and would like for my child to be multilingual.

My parents have retired, and they couldn’t be more excited to welcome a grandchild. They’ve told me continually that they’re ready to jump in however I need; babysitting, daily support, or just being nearby as an extra set of hands.

My older brother is a high school physical education teacher living nearby with his long‑term girlfriend. My younger brother spent years in construction like our father and now works full time with me in our family restaurant. He lives close by with his wife, an X‑ray technician, and our older brother helps at the restaurant on weekends.

I also have a large extended family, many aunts, uncles, and cousins who live close. We grew up together and are now raising our families together. My child will have plenty of cousins to grow up with and many loving male role models. Both of my brothers are especially excited to be involved and take on a father‑figure role. They’ve already talked about the ways they want to show up, from helping with sports and school activities to being a steady, dependable presence as my child grows. Their enthusiasm and love mean a lot to me, and I know my child will benefit from having them as strong male role models. I also rely on the women in my family, many of whom are mothers, for their guidance and support.

I’m lucky to have a small circle of girlfriends I’ve known since grade school. Their friendship and advice have meant everything to me, especially as I’ve watched them become wives and mothers. They’re just as excited as my family for this next chapter and can’t wait to see me step into motherhood. Because they’ve already navigated marriage and raising children, I know I can count on their experience, whether I need support, advice, or help with babysitting.

My Home and Community

I’ve grown up and lived in my community for most of my life. It has that small‑town vibe where people know each other, say hello when they pass by, and genuinely care about their neighbors. Over the years it’s become more diverse and livelier, which I love. It feels welcoming and full of different backgrounds and stories. It’s a quiet, safe suburb with a beautiful local park and great schools, but still close enough to bigger cities when you want more to do. It’s the kind of place where kids ride their bikes, families gather at the park, and you always see familiar faces.

My home is a three‑bedroom, three‑bathroom house with a big backyard that’s perfect for kids. The park is just a short walk away, and I spend a lot of time there walking, exercising, and enjoying the outdoors. I can already picture bringing my child there to play on the playground or even try fishing a little at the pond. There’s an elementary school nearby too, which will make school days easy.

Inside, the kitchen is the heart of the house. It’s where I imagine homework being done at the table, meals shared, and family get‑togethers where everyone’s talking over each other and laughing. The backyard has plenty of space for a swing set, toys, and room to run around, and in the summer it’s the perfect spot to relax and watch the town’s Fourth of July fireworks.

One of the things I love most is how close my support system is. My family and closest friends all live within 10–15 minutes, so help is always nearby, whether I need an extra pair of hands or just want to spend time together. Football is big in our town too, and I look forward to sharing that tradition with my child, watching games on the same field my brothers played on and reconnecting with familiar faces from our school days.

My Message to You

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. The decision you’re considering reflects so much love and care for your child and the future you want for them. Adoption, to me, is a choice that takes honesty, clarity, and real courage and I hope it also gives you the space to grow, follow your dreams, and pursue the goals you have for yourself, in your own time and in your own way.

If you feel I’m the kind of parent you’re hoping for, I want you to feel supported and respected every step of the way. I’m open to whatever level of communication feels right for you; updates, messages, calls, or just knowing you can reach out whenever you need to. My hope is that we can come together to give your child the life you imagine for them; one filled with stability, love, opportunity, and the kind of upbringing that makes you proud of who they become.

There will never be enough words to explain how grateful I would be, but I can show you that gratitude through the love, consistency, and stability I promise to give your child.

Warmly,
Jennifer
