Introduction
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page! We hope our story will give you a small glimpse into our life together including the love, support, and appreciation we have for each other! We are excited to begin this next chapter in our marriage by expanding our family through adoption. We want you to know that if we are chosen; your child will have a forever home with a life filled with unconditional love, a sense of security, fun, and strong values. We are excited to expand our family and become first-time parents.
About Us
Our story began back in 2004 when we started dating. We quickly learned that our personalities jived, and we had a lot in common. We truly are each other’s best friend and love spending time together whether it is relaxing at home, enjoying an evening out, or tackling house projects. Whatever the scenario we do our best to have fun and enjoy the moments.
Patrick has the traits to be a wonderful father. He has shown his abilities to plan things out but can also roll with the punches. He knows when it is time to help or just time to listen. He has shown patience and constant support. He enjoys riding his motorcycle, being outdoors (archery / hunting) and working with his hands on the house. He has a love for football as he is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan (it runs in the family)! He is caring and thoughtful plus he has a knack for always coming up with the best gift ideas!
With Shauna no growing would be necessary. She already exercises all the traits of an experienced mother and is clearly the rock of our family. Shauna has an amazing amount of patience and is thoughtful. Not to be outdone, Shauna helps Patrick with a lot of the maintenance of the house like taking care of firewood and mowing the lawn. We have an organic vegetable garden that has become a true labor of love for her, it couldn’t be stopped if we tried! Her hobbies consist of reading and doing puzzles. A couple times a year she gets together with aunts and her mom to spend a long weekend quilting and catching up. Family is the most important thing to her.
We have two cats, Herman and Lilypie. Herman loves to nap and can be a bit skittish around strangers. He loves kisses on the head and can be a bit picky about snuggles (it must be on his terms)! He is considered a senior cat due to his age plus he was recently diagnosed with diabetes (this requires insulin shots twice a day). We have learned a lot of patience through raising him especially over the last several months. He commands a lot of our attention during feeding times, he gets special food and is fed on a strict schedule. Lilypie is a bit younger and is very outgoing and playful. She loves to play sparkly ball and is quite the snuggle bug! We usually find her curled up under soft blankets or on her favorite fleece pillow. She loves to eat and will race us to her food bowl during feeding time!
Family Life:
We are very family-oriented and have a great group of friends; they are all a constant staple in our lives and act as a wonderful support system. We speak with our families several times a week, get together for various events, holidays, and special occasions. Several times a year, we camp with Shauna’s family. Our family and friends are all excited about us expanding our family (especially our parents who look forward to welcoming another grandchild to love and spoil). We enjoy children and look forward to spending time with our nieces and nephews who range in age from toddler to teenagers. We attend their sporting events, birthday parties, and other important milestones (Patrick is the godfather to his brother’s daughter). We are especially close with Shauna’s cousin, husband and three girls. We are the godparents to their youngest daughter and enjoy spending time with them on various occasions.
Our Home and Community:
We live in a single-family country home in a quiet, safe, and rural community. Our home is well-maintained and has plenty of space to grow a family. Our spare bedroom will be converted into a child’s room where they will have ample space for toys, games, and books. We have a spacious kitchen which is great for gatherings or baking extravaganzas (especially during the holidays) and a family / living room where we can spend time together reading, watching cartoons, playing board games, Legos, building blanket forts, and more!! Our home is surrounded by nature and wildlife along with a great yard that is waiting for a child to run, play, jump, sled, and tumble down the hills! Our county has excellent school systems including pre-school programs. Within our community, there are plenty to do including museums, a zoo, minor league baseball stadium, farms that offer “Pick Your Own”, local and state parks with hiking trails, sports fields, playgrounds, and lakes, and so much more.
Our Message to You
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We hope through this journey we can learn about you and what wishes you have for your child. We support any level of openness and will defer to you when it comes to the level of contact you want to establish. We will raise this child, so they know how much you sacrificed to ensure they live a wonderful life and how much you will always love them. We plan to be open with this child about their adoption story throughout their life. We want you to know that we would be honored to be chosen to raise your child as it would give us the opportunity to complete our family.
